“House in Criação Velha” is an architectural endeavor that took shape in 2015, nestled within the eponymous town. The core concept of this project revolves around the creation of a harmonious space where the boundaries between the interior and exterior seamlessly meld into an open terrace.
The strategic placement of pristine white architectural volumes is thoughtfully orchestrated to capitalize on the stunning vistas and the natural surroundings. This arrangement fosters an intimate connection between the dwelling and its environment, immersing the occupants in the beauty of their surroundings.
Notably, textures play a pivotal role in the project’s design, particularly on the front facade. Here, preservation of an existing stone wall serves a dual purpose: it pays homage to the historical fabric of the area and provides a protective barrier against the adjacent main road. This juxtaposition of the time-worn, traditional stone wall and the sleek, contemporary volumes introduces a captivating visual contrast, offering a compelling narrative of how “House in Criação Velha” seamlessly marries tradition with modernity in architectural excellence.
