House in São Roque

The São Roque House project marked a significant milestone for our office, following the successful completion of the XA Apartments project. This transformative endeavor involved the conversion of a modest building, originally divided into two levels: the lower floor reserved for livestock storage and the upper floor designated for housing.

The spatial arrangement of the house was carefully considered, with a strategic layout that placed bedrooms and bathrooms on the lower floor for privacy and convenience, while dedicating the upper floor to social and culinary spaces, fostering a harmonious flow throughout the residence.

A pivotal aspect of our design involved seamlessly connecting these two levels. This was achieved by creating an internal corridor or hallway within the building’s volume, ingeniously repurposing the old livestock entrance as the new access point. This innovative approach retained the historical charm of the structure while infusing it with modern utility.
